  • Propose and implement solutions to improve our team efficiency. Specifically addressing tech-debt and hidden dependencies.
  • Make choices for the adoption of new technologies based on your extensive experience.
  • Try to ship small features and improvements on a regular basis with minimum guidance. Actively help the team to collaborate with bigger initiatives.
  • Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotations to help teams troubleshoot urgent customer facing problems and other engineering issues.
  • Participate in our team process of software delivery which includes refinement of work items, discussion about priorities and outcomes the team defines for the coming time period.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in developing backend services in Python and/or Golang.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Understanding of major cloud computing concepts, networking and automation.
  • Experience in designing and running software services in unreliable cloud environments.
  • Proficient in maintaining CI/CD tools like Gitlab, ArgoCD etc.
  • Familiarity with service oriented architecture and microservices.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, HTTP, SSL, WebSocket, and other network technologies that power today's Web.
  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
  • Comfort working in an agile, iterative software development process.
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience owning an epic or project from concept to production, including proposal, scope discussion, and implementation.
  • Proven ability to cooperate with other parts of the organization. Leaning towards communication, inclusion, and visibility.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment.

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with the modern monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Open Source software contributions
  • Experience working with a remote team, preferably in a tech startup organization.
